New species of meat-eating allosaurus announced by Utah scientists

Madison Syrett, a paleontology collections intern at the Natural History Museum of Utah, looks a Allosaurus jimmadsen, a new species of meat-eating dinosaur, that was unveiled at the museum in Salt Lake City on Friday, Jan. 24, 2020. SALT LAKE CITY — The geologically oldest species of the meat-eating dinosaur allosaurus roamed western North America 157 million years ago, with one specimen unearthed at the Dinosaur National Monument in northeastern Utah.
